Volvo invests in Israeli battery technology -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment



On April 27, according to the US "Wall Street Journal" website, Volvo Cars said recently that its venture capital arm has invested in Israeli battery technology developer StoreDot.

StoreDot develops extremely fast-charging battery technology for electric vehicles, and says the company is working on technology that could provide 160 kilometers of battery life on a five-minute charge. StoreDot plans to reach mass production in 2024.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)

Volvo Cars said the investment gave it the opportunity to work with StoreDot on new battery technology, adding that the partnership would take place at Volvo's battery technology joint venture with Swedish battery maker Northvolt last year.

At present, Volvo is accelerating the transition to electric vehicles. According to previous reports, Volvo plans to stop the production of traditional fuel vehicles in 2025.
